'Tis the Season

An odd question for everyone...has anyone noticed any seasonality in regards to your pain scale? Let me explain....every year around October I have one of the worst battles with pain that I experience all year. I will usually have a bout with some fairly serious pain, with the after affects lasting up to 3-4 days at times.

Interestingly enough, 3 of the 4 collapsed lungs that I've had were within the months of October and November. Not sure if this is a strange coincidence or something more.....

Keep fightin' my fellow Pneumo's!

  1. Its something with the air change, me and my girlfirend live in the upper north part of Sweden, where November starts to bring us snow and -5-10c, and all of the times (except the one that happen yesterday) has been under Oktober to December. 2009, left side started in November (VATS in febuari 2010), 2012, late Oktober on the right side (VATS begining of Nov 2012), middle November 2012 left side again (VATS begining of Jan 2013), and now, middle of Januari 2014 she is going to same thing again on the left side (third time now, even after two VATS). Came back from the ER with 12mm air pocket.
Starting to feel hopeless and something that can accour every autum/winter.

    1. Patrik,

Very interesting that you've experienced similar things...sorry to hear about the recent pneumo. Hang in there!

  2. Our son also has problems during Spring storms in North Carolina, USA. We always know when large storms are coming. Hurricanes are a problem too.

    1. Anita, Thanks for sharing. That's very interesting....

Sounds like pneumo victims would have made good weathermen prior to the advent of Doppler Radar. :)
